Each year a brave soul takes on the job of coordinating our Reading Exploration Program. It is a big job! This year Jodi Haggen has graciously and efficiently filled this position.
Reading Exploration is another way that we say "Reading is Important!" Our first big event is in November, which is nationally, Childrens' Reading Month. This year our theme is "Chews a Good Book". Watch for a flurry of gumballs on our hall bulletin board.
4,000 hours of reading in November!!!!!!! Hooray for Silver Beach kids!
For every hour that each child reads, a paper bubble gumball will be hung in our hallway. Random drawings will be held for prizes. The more hours you read, the more gumballs you earn, the more chances to win a prize!
Our next big event is Library Lovers' Month, in February. We collect the titles of all of staff members' favorites and all of our students' favorites and hang them in the hall.
