Dear Fifth Grade Parents and Students,
Mountain School is just a few weeks away! This letter provides you with important details regarding transportation, departure and arrival times, and emergency contacts.
Transportation
Bellingham School District will provide bus transportation to and from the North Cascades Institute for our students and teachers. We appreciate our Parent Teacher Organization, the Silver Beach Education Association (SBEA), who will pay the associated transportation costs.
Bus Departure and Arrival Times
Silver Beach students will attend Mountain School Wednesday – Friday, April 17 – 19, 2013.
- Departure: Please have your child at Silver Beach Elementary by 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 17. The bus will leave promptly at 8 a.m.
- Arrival: On Friday afternoon, April 19, students will leave Mountain School by noon and will arrive at Silver Beach Elementary at approximately 2 p.m.
A parent or designated adult must pick up their child upon return from Mountain School, as the child cannot bring their Mountain School belongings on the school bus. A pick-up information form will come home with your student the week after spring break. Please complete the form designating who will pick up your child and return the form to your teacher as soon as possible.
Sack Lunch
All students must bring a sack lunch for the day they leave for Mountain School in their daypack. Does your child normally eat hot lunch at school? If so, let your teacher know as soon as possible if you need a school provided sack lunch.
