The Leader In Me is a whole school transformation process. It teaches 21st century leadership and life skills to students and creates a culture of student empowerment based on the idea that every child can be a leader.

Silver Beach Elementary School’s daily way of life is founded on the philosophy of The Leader In Me. This philosophy is based on The Seven Habits and guides our school’s mission and vision of inspiring the love of learning and leadership in every child. Administrators, teachers, staff, and students use The Seven Habits as a guiding force for making decisions about their own conduct and how to treat each other.

The Leader In Me provides Silver Beach Elementary with the vision and language to lead in a way that addresses all areas of development. As each student discovers and develops his or her unique gifts and talents, they are given opportunities to lead. As leaders, they become active, engaged partners in their own education and their self-confidence, responsibility, and initiative grows.  Students quickly understand the benefits of different gifts and talents; they learn to listen to new ideas, work together to achieve results, and motivate one another to be the best.

The Leader In Me is endorsed by CASEL as an evidence-based Social Emotional Learning process for grades K-5.
